ePortfolio Project
Beginning in fall 2010, students will keep an ePortfolio of writing from the four levels of writing courses: in each writing course, faculty will require entries for the ePortfolio, which will be a resource for students in further education or career. The WAC Program will use ePortfolios to assess writing at Appalachian and to assist departments in assessing writing in the disciplines.
Pilots
In spring 2009, the Composition Program in English and the Geography Department will conduct a pilot in ePortfolios, and the WAC Program will offer faculty development opportunites throughout fall 2009 and spring 2010. In spring 2010, the ePortfolio project will begin with all students enrolled in first-year composition courses and continue with them through their writing courses at Appalachian.
